Heath's Birthday

Can you believe my baby is 2?!

I took a very laid back approach to his party this year.  I made a cake (nothing special...), we invited a couple friends over, we sang to him and let them play.  It rocked!

All about Heath:

Heath doesn't speak well.  At all.  He sounds like he is slurring words at the back of his throat.  He grunts and points most of the time.

He LOVES Thomas the Train.  Santa brought him a train track with a motorized train, and it has been a huge hit!  Heath can be seen carrying trains and trucks everywhere he goes.

He doesn't like meat.  He doesn't like veggies.  His favorite foods are Milk and Yogurt.  (and he is having problems digesting milk, so its been pretty fun to figure out and switch him to Lactose free stuff)

He still loves his binky.  We almost had him weaned, and then he got sick, so I gave it back and he has a new found love for it.  The good part is that he only has it in his crib.

He loves to get into trouble. He is always into something, and has a big smile on his face.  He gets into my bathroom  and seems to have a magnetic attraction to men's deodorant.    And he doesn't know how to use it...he usually puts it on his cheeks and arms.

He falls down a lot.  He trips over nothing but his own feet.  I think he is clumsier than average.

He is taking a good afternoon nap and sleeps at night from 8pm-6:45am.

Project Life

I am attempting to do 'project life'... wish me luck.  I have the templates and now I need to get busy.  If you want to do one for yourself, go here.

Until then, here are some pictures.
I have been doing a photo a day and hope to get at least 1 picture most days of life at my house.

Heath unloads the pantry himself on a daily basis when he gets hungry.  He lines them all up on the counter.
 Out?!

 Heath gets a haircut!!!

We met up with the Rivards at the park!
 Before the haircut...

Wanna get sick? Come to my house. P.S. Merry Christmas!

The month of December was so crazy.  I really wasn't too stressed, but it was sure busy.
We had piano recitals, parties, snow, the flu, snowboarding, family, the flu again, more puke than I have ever had to deal with in a month's time, photo shoots, traveling to Denver, catching up with old friends, and of course, Christmas!
My family came out (except Cori.  boo!!!).  We partied like rock stars until about 10:30 every night.  My parents and Haley got sick.  I wasn't kidding about the sickness here.  My kids have had the flu/bug of some sort since the begining of December.  We have had 6 rounds of puking in our house, plus multiple fevers, GI problems, and now croupe, and an ear infection.  Plus Peter, and I have an annoying lingering cough.  We even got flu shots!

I think I am ready for spring.

To pep up this post, I am adding all of our awesome Christmas card pictures.  (There are so many of them!)

Backtrack to Thanksgiving

2 posts in one week!  Its like its 2009 again!
Anyway, I took a ton of pics on our little excursion down to NM to visit Nicole and Devin and their cute little family!
Alamagordo would be a pretty awesome place, if it weren't in New Mexico.  Other than that, I really, really, really had a great time with some of my favorite people!  We ate so much good food.  Nicole has to be the best cook on planet earth, and she loves new recipes, so its always fun in the kitchen with her.  We went to White Sands, which are these cool dunes of (you guessed it!) white sand!  I dragged Nicole out running in the desert with me, we did yoga and weights, went four wheeling and ate more food. ;)
Here are the pictures to prove it!

December is here again!

No pictures today, just some thoughts.
The last week has been cold.  Really, really cold.  We had a lovely storm hit, and it brought snow and sub-zero temperatures!  Our highs for the past week have hovered around 0 and the lows about -10.  Brrr!
School was cancelled, Ft. Carson shut down, and we just hung out at home.  Snow and ice isn't bad when you never have to go out in it!!!
We put up our decorations and had a visit from "Ziggy" the 'elf on the shelf'.  He hangs out somewhere new each day and watches the kids and reports back to Santa each night.  The kids love it!  Ziggy has been spotted on the top of our tree, in the baking cupboard hoarding the chocolate chips, up on high shelves and last night he got into the pizza and drank a whole coke!

Our weeks ahead are filled with fun!  Peter has a piano recital Friday. (along with the rest of my studio) Brooke has a dance recital Saturday, and Bryan and I are throwing a couple parties next week.  I am excited for my parents and siblings to come visit!  Hopefully we get some skiing in!  (That is the plan for our anniversary too.  Can you believe Bryan and I will be married 9 years next week?!)

In all the craziness that comes with December, I cannot forget the most important thing- the birth of our Savior.  I am so humbled and thankful that Jesus Christ came to earth for me and you.  I love celebrating the season and remembering the story of the Christ child's birth.  The real reason for the season is Him.  I hope that I can find ways to serve others and be a positive influence in someone's life.  I hope I can teach my children the real meaning of Christmas.  It is about love, and service, and hope, and joy!
I hope that you all find Christ in this season and know that He loves you.  There is hope and a purpose to life and it is through Him that we can find it.
Merry Christmas Family and Friends!
